Lamine Yamal Brace Helps Barcelona Beat Levante 4-2 for Fifth Straight La Liga Win

Barcelona maintained their perfect start to the La Liga season with a hard-fought 4-2 victory over Levante on Sunday.

Lamine Yamal scored twice, while Xavi Espart and Karim Adeyemi added a goal each as Hansi Flick's side secured their fifth consecutive league win.

Despite the four goals, the result was far from comfortable for Barcelona. Levante repeatedly put pressure on the defending champions, especially in the second half, but Yamal and Adeyemi's quality ultimately made the difference.

Barcelona strike early

Barcelona took the lead after just four minutes. Receiving the ball from Raphinha, young left-back Xavi Espart entered the box and fired a right-footed shot that took a deflection off a Levante player before finding the net.

It was Espart's first professional goal.

Levante responded strongly. In the 14th minute, Pau Cubarsi blocked Ratkov's effort, before goalkeeper Joan Garcia denied Roger Brugué moments later.

Yamal doubles the lead

Barcelona doubled their advantage in the 19th minute. Raphinha's captain's cutback found Lamine Yamal, who finished from close range to make it 2-0.

The goal also marked another assist for Barcelona captain Raphinha, who has now contributed six assists across all competitions this season.

Levante refused to sit back and continued attacking. The hosts created sustained pressure towards the end of the first half, testing Barcelona's defensive structure.

Four minutes after the restart, Barcelona extended their lead again. Yamal was fouled inside the box, and the teenager calmly converted the resulting penalty to complete his brace.

It was his seventh goal in all competitions this season.

Levante fight back

Levante continued to threaten despite trailing by three goals. Raphinha came close in the 56th minute when his shot narrowly missed the far post.

Moments later, Andreas Christensen cleared Ivan Romero's effort off the goal line. Joan Garcia then produced another important save to keep Barcelona's three-goal advantage intact.

Levante finally pulled one back in the 79th minute. A defensive mistake allowed Romero to collect the ball in a dangerous position, and he calmly rounded Garcia before finding the net.

The momentum shifted further in the 88th minute when Brugué scored a brilliant second goal for Levante.

The forward escaped two challenges before entering the box. Garcia managed to stop his initial effort, but Brugué reacted quickly to the rebound and made it 2-3.

Adeyemi seals the victory

Barcelona were under serious pressure late in the match, but Karim Adeyemi finally settled the contest in stoppage time.

In the third minute of added time, Adeyemi collected the ball around the halfway line, beat one defender and drove into the box. After evading another challenge, he fired a low finish into the near corner.

His pace and close control left the Levante defenders struggling to contain him.

The victory gives Barcelona 15 points from five matches, keeping them alone at the top of the La Liga table. Levante, meanwhile, remain 13th with five points from their opening five games.

For Barcelona, the win was another indication that they can continue collecting points even when opponents manage to push them to the limit.
