Ousmane Dembélé Predicts PSG Star to Win Ballon d’Or, Names His Top Three

The race for the 2026 Ballon d’Or has already sparked plenty of debate, and current winner Ousmane Dembélé has now shared his prediction. The Paris Saint-Germain forward believes the prestigious individual award will once again remain with a PSG player.

France Football released the Ballon d’Or shortlist yesterday, with Dembélé himself included among the nominees. The winner of this year’s award will be announced in London on October 26.

As speculation grows over who could take home the prestigious trophy, Dembélé has backed a PSG player to win it again.

“I don’t think it is too difficult to predict the trophy. I think it will be in the hands of a PSG player,” Dembélé said.

The 29-year-old French forward also revealed his personal top three contenders, although he did not rank them in any particular order.

His list includes Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé.

Dembélé deliberately left himself out of the list despite being one of the leading contenders for this year’s award.

“My top three? In no particular order. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Harry Kane—they had great seasons. Then Mbappé. And me? No, I can’t put myself on the list. I never vote for myself,” he said.

Despite not including himself among his top three, Dembélé remains one of the strongest candidates for the Ballon d’Or after an outstanding campaign with PSG.

He played a key role in PSG’s success across multiple competitions, including the domestic league, Champions League and UEFA Super Cup. The French forward finished the season with an impressive 25 goals and 13 assists across competitions.

If Dembélé wins the award again, he would become a back-to-back Ballon d’Or winner. However, based on his own prediction, another PSG star could also get his hands on football’s most prestigious individual trophy.
