Yamal Scores Twice as Barcelona Crush Valencia 5-0 to Stay Top of La Liga

Lamine Yamal led the way as Barcelona produced a dominant display to crush Valencia 5-0 away from home and maintain their perfect start to the La Liga season.

Barcelona came flying out of the blocks, with Yamal opening the scoring after just six minutes. The Spanish forward received a brilliant pass from Fermin Lopez before calmly finishing to put the visitors 1-0 ahead.

Yamal thought he had doubled the lead only two minutes later, once again finishing from a Lopez assist. However, a VAR review ruled the goal out for offside.

The teenager continued to cause problems for Valencia. In the 24th minute, his curling effort looked destined for the top corner, but Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski produced an excellent save to tip the ball over the crossbar.

Yamal and Lopez continued to combine brilliantly throughout the first half. In the 39th minute, Lopez found Yamal inside the box, allowing the forward to dribble past a defender before firing a low shot narrowly wide of the post.

Barcelona’s second goal eventually came through Lopez himself. Taking advantage of a disorganised Valencia defence, the young midfielder fired a left-footed shot into the net from inside the penalty area.

It was Lopez’s fourth La Liga goal of the season, underlining his impressive start to the campaign.

Barcelona continued to dominate after the break, keeping Valencia under relentless pressure and creating chance after chance. The visitors eventually added to their advantage as the game turned into a one-sided contest.

Yamal remained at the heart of Barcelona’s attacking threat from beginning to end. His two goals, pace, dribbling and creativity repeatedly exposed Valencia’s defence, while his understanding with Lopez proved particularly effective.

Barcelona eventually completed a convincing 5-0 victory at the Estadio Mestalla.

The result means Barcelona have won all four of their La Liga matches and moved onto 12 points, strengthening their position at the top of the table. Real Madrid have nine points from four games and sit fourth, while Valencia remain winless and bottom of the standings in 20th place.
