Arsenal Beat Chelsea 2-1 to Maintain London Derby Dominance

The London derby at the Emirates Stadium got off to a breathtaking start, with Chelsea needing just 77 seconds to break the deadlock.

Morgan Rogers put the visitors ahead with a stunning volley after a free-kick fell loose outside the Arsenal penalty area. David Raya had no chance as the ball flew into the corner, giving Chelsea an early 1–0 lead.

Arsenal, however, refused to panic. Mikel Arteta’s side gradually began to take control of possession, with Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz helping the hosts build wave after wave of pressure.

Arsenal thought they had found the equaliser at one stage, but the goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR review.

The pressure eventually paid off. Havertz cut inside from the right and fired a low shot past the Chelsea goalkeeper to bring Arsenal level at 1–1.

Chelsea nearly restored their lead before half-time when Pedro Neto’s effort on a quick counterattack struck the post and bounced away. Arsenal survived the scare and went into the break level.

The second half saw Arsenal take greater control of the game. Saka and Odegaard continued to create opportunities, while Chelsea looked dangerous whenever they managed to break forward on the counter.

Arsenal finally completed the comeback through Odegaard. Havertz cleverly allowed the ball to run through, creating space for the Norwegian midfielder, who calmly finished from close range near the penalty spot. Chelsea goalkeeper Martinez had no chance.

Arsenal had turned the game around and moved 2–1 ahead.

Chelsea pushed hard for an equaliser in the closing stages, attacking through the wings and trying their luck from distance. But Arsenal’s defence remained composed, while Raya produced several important saves to keep his side in front.

In the final moments, Raya made another crucial intervention to deny Estevao’s curling effort, effectively sealing the result.

Arsenal held on for a 2–1 victory to underline their dominance in the London derby and maintain their winning momentum under Mikel Arteta.
