Simeone warns fans over Alvarez's anger

Atletico Madrid won a great victory over Malaga in the first match of the new season in La Liga. However, the controversy outside the field is now more in discussion because Julián Alvarez was not available in the match. Atletico fans, angry at the Argentine forward who expressed his desire to leave the club, also made insults after the match.

However, coach Diego Simeone has taken a clear position against the fans' anger over Alvarez. Atletico will play the second match of the season against Villarreal tomorrow. Simeone said in a press conference before that match that Alvarez will remain in the team's squad.

Although he respects the fans, the Atletico coach has made it clear that he will not accept insults or abuse of the players in any way. He said, "I respect my fans 100 percent, but I will not tolerate any kind of insults or abuse. This needs to be clear.’

Simeone also said that there is no unrest in the team surrounding Alvarez. Highlighting the importance of the Argentine star, he said, ‘Alvarez is a very important player for us, we need him. As a team, we will give him 100 percent support and protection on the field.’

Simeone’s message is even clearer – Alvarez is part of the team as long as he is an Atletico player. In his words, ‘As long as he is in our team, he is our player and we will keep him.’

Simeone did not want to comment directly on Alvarez’s mental state. However, he does not see any lack of professionalism in the Argentine forward in training. The coach said, ‘He is training with the utmost professionalism, respecting his teammates.’

Simeone currently wants to put all speculation surrounding Alvarez behind him and focus on the Villarreal match. According to him, the team’s main goal is to build a strong team and give their best on the field.

The Atletico coach also sees Villarreal as a tough opponent. He said that the team has several quality players. Therefore, Atletico will have to give their best in the 90-minute battle, being physically and mentally ready.
