Real Madrid Reveal Details of Kylian Mbappe’s Knee Injury

Real Madrid have provided an update on Kylian Mbappe’s knee injury after the France captain was forced off during the Nations League victory over Turkey.

Mbappe scored the only goal as France beat Turkey 1–0 on Friday. However, shortly after celebrating the goal, the forward felt discomfort in his left knee and received treatment on the pitch.

Although he briefly returned to the game, Mbappe was unable to continue and eventually went down again. France’s new head coach Zinedine Zidane was forced to substitute his captain in the 58th minute.

Mbappe subsequently left the France squad and returned to Madrid for further medical assessment. The French Football Federation initially confirmed that the 27-year-old had suffered a knee injury.

Following further examinations on Saturday, Real Madrid revealed that Mbappe had suffered a hyperextension injury involving the posterior capsule of his left knee.

The club has not indicated a specific recovery timeline or confirmed that the injury will keep him out for an extended period. However, his condition will be closely monitored ahead of Real Madrid’s next La Liga fixture against Villarreal on October 10.

For Real Madrid, Mbappe’s availability will be an important issue as the club prepares for a crucial stretch of the season.
