Mourinho confident despite missing Rodri, 'I'm very happy with this team'

Real Madrid's squad has seen several new faces in the summer transfer window. However, despite all these changes, there is a big gap in the team's midfield - Rodri. Real could not finally bring the Spanish star to the team. However, coach Jose Mourinho is satisfied with the current squad. He believes that this team is enough to fight next season.

Six new players have joined Real's dressing room in this transfer window. The biggest surprise among them is Ivorian winger Yann Diomande, who was brought in from Leipzig for 125 million euros. Two new faces have also come from the English Premier League - Bernardo Silva and Marc Cucurea. However, the regret of not getting a midfielder like Rodri remains.

Mourinho, however, does not see it as a big problem. He said at the press conference that in his view the team is already ready. The transfer market is open, so there may be some last-minute changes, but he has no demands on the club to bring in someone new.

The void created in Real's midfield after the departures of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in the last two seasons has not yet been fully filled. The team has also had trouble maintaining control of the match at times. The first match of the new season also saw a 2-1 win over Espanyol at the last minute.

Federico Valverde's role has also changed in Mourinho's plan. Although he sometimes played on the right wing or as a right-back under previous coaches, he is primarily a midfielder in the eyes of the new coach. However, Mourinho does not want to confine him to a specific position. He plans to play Valverde all over the field according to the match situation and the team's needs.

Similarly, the Real coach does not want to judge other midfielders by a specific 'number'. According to him, in modern football, the roles of players change with the match situation and the different positions in the midfield blend with each other.

However, there are some concerns about Chouhan before the next match. The French midfielder is not yet fully fit. So Mourinho does not want to risk him against Real Sociedad. His clear message is that no player who is not 100% fit at the beginning of the season will be put on the field.

There is no Rodri, no Modric-Kroos. So Mourinho faces the challenge of reorganizing Real with new players. However, the Portuguese coach is not disappointed with the team for now. On the contrary, he believes that Real is ready for a big fight with the players they have.
