Bangladesh-West Indies Test Series Venues Confirmed

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially confirmed the venues for the upcoming two-match Test series between Bangladesh and the West Indies. The series is scheduled to begin in the final week of October and run through the second week of November.

The opening Test will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, widely regarded as one of Bangladesh’s premier cricket venues. The second and final Test will then move to the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

Bangladesh currently sit fourth in the World Test Championship standings and will enter the series with renewed confidence following their historic Test victory over Australia in Darwin.

Najmul Hossain Shanto’s side are currently facing Australia in the second Test in Mackay. Once that contest is completed, Bangladesh will return home for the two-Test series against the West Indies.

The series presents Bangladesh with an important opportunity to strengthen their position in the World Test Championship standings. A strong result at home could help the Tigers close the gap on the teams above them and remain firmly in contention.

The West Indies, meanwhile, are currently ninth in the WTC standings with a points percentage of 20.83. The Caribbean side will be looking to revive their campaign and collect valuable points during their tour of Bangladesh.

Adapting to Asian conditions will be one of the biggest challenges for Craig Brathwaite’s team. The visitors will hope to put up a strong fight on Bangladesh’s home pitches and improve their position in the championship table.

Bangladesh will have little time to rest after the West Indies series. The Tigers are scheduled to travel to South Africa in November for another challenging two-Test assignment.

The two Tests against South Africa are expected to be played in Johannesburg and Centurion, giving Bangladesh another major challenge in their World Test Championship campaign.

Following their memorable success in Australia, Bangladesh now face a crucial stretch of Test cricket—with the West Indies series at home followed by a difficult tour of South Africa.
