Haaland Reaches 300 Club Goals, Overtakes Mbappe and Ronaldo

Erling Haaland has added another remarkable milestone to his already extraordinary career, reaching 300 club goals and surpassing Kylian Mbappe and Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of appearances needed to reach the landmark.

The Manchester City striker achieved the feat on Saturday night as City secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Coventry City at the Etihad Stadium. Haaland opened the scoring in the 26th minute with a powerful header from Antoine Semenyo’s precise cross, with the goal also proving to be the match-winner.

Haaland reached 300 club goals in just 384 appearances across four clubs. He scored 20 goals for Molde, 29 for Red Bull Salzburg, 86 for Borussia Dortmund and has now netted 165 times for Manchester City.

Only Lionel Messi reached the 300-goal mark in fewer appearances, doing so in 365 matches. Haaland, however, has already moved ahead of Kylian Mbappe, who needed 398 appearances, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who reached 300 club goals after 499 matches.

The 26-year-old Norwegian has now scored 165 goals in just 202 appearances for Manchester City. His goal against Coventry was also his third in the opening three Premier League matches of the 2026-27 campaign.

The historic milestone came on a perfect night for Manchester City, who made it three wins from three Premier League games under Enzo Maresca. The victory gave City a maximum nine points from their opening three matches.

From Molde and Salzburg to Dortmund and Manchester City, Haaland has continued to rewrite the goalscoring record books. With his extraordinary scoring rate and age still on his side, the Norwegian appears destined for even greater milestones in the years ahead.
