Silva Promises Silverware for Real Madrid

Real Madrid have officially unveiled Bernardo Silva as their latest signing, 33 days after the club announced his arrival. The Portuguese midfielder has already featured for the Spanish giants in pre-season, but he was formally presented as a Real Madrid player ahead of the new campaign.

The 32-year-old midfielder joined Real Madrid from Manchester City and has signed a contract that runs until 2028. For Silva, the move represents the fulfilment of a childhood dream.

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez attended the presentation along with members of Silva’s family. Speaking about his move, Silva revealed that playing for Real Madrid had been a dream since childhood.

“When I was young, I didn’t even know whether I would become a footballer, but I always dreamed of playing for Real Madrid. I’m extremely happy to be here.”

Silva is also excited about making his competitive debut at the Santiago Bernabéu in front of Real Madrid supporters. His ambition, however, goes beyond simply wearing the famous white shirt.

“Soon I’ll play at the Bernabéu and meet the fans. Now it’s time to work hard and continue winning trophies, which is what this club is used to doing.”

Real Madrid are the most successful club in Champions League history and among the most decorated teams in La Liga. However, the last two seasons have fallen short of expectations, with the club failing to win a major trophy.

Silva is determined to help change that and add more silverware to the club’s already impressive trophy cabinet.

He also spoke about the significance of seeing Real Madrid’s 15 Champions League trophies up close.

“I’ve played here several times before. Seeing 15 Champions League trophies is always impressive, but seeing them as a player is even more special. Not everyone gets the chance to play for a club like this.”

Silva admitted that he already knew how big Real Madrid were before joining, but experiencing the club from inside gave him an even greater appreciation of its history and stature.

With the new season approaching, the Portuguese midfielder is now ready for his biggest challenge yet: helping Real Madrid return to the top and compete for major honours once again.
