Anne Hathaway Joins Tom Cruise in ‘Days of Thunder’ Sequel

Hollywood stars Tom Cruise and Anne Hathaway are set to share the screen in the highly anticipated sequel to the popular racing film ‘Days of Thunder’.

According to entertainment outlet Variety, Cruise will return as the determined racing driver Cole Trickle, while Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway will take on the role of a racing team owner and engineer.

On Saturday, August 29, Cruise celebrated Hathaway's casting by sharing a photo taken with his new co-star at a NASCAR track. The announcement has already generated major excitement among movie fans eager to see the two Hollywood stars together.

The ‘Days of Thunder’ sequel will mark one of Cruise's major upcoming projects following his work on the ‘Mission: Impossible’ franchise. The actor is also keeping busy with a new ‘Top Gun’ project and an upcoming film directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu.

Directed by Jonathan Levine, the sequel is expected to be filmed using IMAX cameras to deliver a spectacular racing experience for audiences. The film is planned for an exclusive theatrical release, with screenings available in Dolby Cinema and 4DX formats.

Tom Cruise, Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper are producing the highly anticipated project.

Paramount Pictures has announced that the sequel will arrive nearly four decades after the original Tony Scott-directed film. ‘Days of Thunder’ is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on June 2, 2028.
