Adeyemi Gains Confidence After Scoring His First Goal for Barcelona

Karim Adeyemi has opened his Barcelona account, scoring his first goal for the Catalan club during their pre-season victory over FC Basel. Although the goal came in a friendly rather than a competitive fixture, the moment has given the German winger an early boost of confidence as he continues to settle into his new surroundings.

Barcelona secured a convincing 5-2 victory over Basel in Switzerland on Sunday. Adeyemi opened the scoring in the 34th minute after controlling a pass from the left with his first touch before calmly creating space and firing a powerful effort through a crowd of defenders.

Basel equalised before half-time, but Barcelona quickly regained the lead after the break through Hamza Abdelkarim. Lamine Yamal then extended the advantage from the penalty spot in the 81st minute. Basel pulled one back from another penalty, but 18-year-old Belgian winger Jese Bisiou sealed the comfortable victory with two late goals in the 89th minute and first-half stoppage time.

For Adeyemi, however, the biggest takeaway was his first goal in Barcelona colours. The forward has been enjoying his early days at the club and says he is learning something new every day.

“I’m enjoying every day and learning a lot from the team. I’m trying to improve every day. Being able to live in a city like this and play for such a big club is incredible,” Adeyemi said.

He also admitted that adapting to life at one of the world's biggest clubs has been more challenging than he initially expected. Still, he sees the challenge as an opportunity to learn, improve and give his best on the pitch.

Adeyemi joined Barcelona last month after leaving Borussia Dortmund and is now working to adapt quickly before the start of competitive football.

“It feels great. I think we played a good game, and we are still adapting. I’m very happy to be here and I want more. It feels like a dream come true,” he said.

The winger is also confident about Barcelona's potential, pointing to the quality within the squad and the team's ability to achieve something special.

Barcelona will play their final pre-season match on Wednesday against Al Ahli in the Joan Gamper Trophy at home. It will be their final preparation before competitive football begins.

For Adeyemi, his first Barcelona goal may have come in a friendly, but it could prove an important early step as he builds confidence and prepares for the much bigger challenges ahead.
