England and Sri Lanka to play ODI series in Pakistan in October and November
Pakistan has a busy international season ahead of it. They will play T20 and Test series against Sri Lanka in October and November. In between the two series, Pakistan will also participate in a tri-nation ODI series with England and Sri Lanka.
Pakistan's new season will begin with a three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi in October. This will be Pakistan's first international T20 series after the 2026 T20 World Cup. The matches will be played on October 9, 11 and 13.
The tri-nation ODI series will begin five days after the end of the T20 series. Each team will play two matches against each other. The top two teams in the points table will face each other in the final on October 31.
England will play Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi on October 20 and 22, respectively. After that, all three teams will travel to Lahore for the remaining four matches of the series.
Pakistan is hosting the tri-nation ODI series at home for the second consecutive year. They had organised a similar series against South Africa and New Zealand before the Champions Trophy last year.
Pakistan will then play a two-Test series against Sri Lanka. The first Test will be held in Rawalpindi from November 9 to 13 and the second and final Test in Lahore from November 17 to 21. Both matches are part of the World Test Championship. Sri Lanka will play a three-day warm-up match in Islamabad as a preparation for the Test series.
This is Pakistan's second series at home in the ongoing Test Championship cycle. Pakistan drew the two-match series 1-1 against defending champions South Africa at the same venue in October last year. Their last series in this cycle will be against New Zealand in March next year. Pakistan is currently eighth in the nine-team points table.
Meanwhile, England's busy winter schedule for the 2026-27 season will begin with this tri-nation ODI series. After the Pakistan tour, England will travel to Australia. There, they will play three ODIs and five T20Is.
England will then tour South Africa in December-January to play three Tests and three ODIs. After the South Africa tour, they will come to Bangladesh to play a two-Test series in February next year. Finally, England will return to Australia in March to play the historic 150th anniversary Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
