The raids began on Monday (September 28). Indian media reports indicate that authorities are investigating allegations of suspicious financial transactions and the transfer of funds abroad under the guise of film financing.

Investigating allegations of transferring funds abroad

Multiple teams from the Income Tax Department are visiting the relevant premises to examine documents, financial accounts, and transaction records. A key part of the investigation focuses on whether funds were siphoned off abroad under the pretext of financing film projects.

However, no evidence of financial irregularities against Rakul Preet Singh, Vashu Bhagnani, or Panorama Studios has been made public so far. The Income Tax Department's investigation is ongoing, and it remains unclear what specific information or documents have been uncovered during the raids. An income tax search in itself does not prove an individual's guilt.

Context regarding Aman Preet Singh's past drug case

Following news of these raids, a drug-related case from 2020 involving Rakul's brother, Aman Preet Singh, has also resurfaced in discussions. On December 19 of last year, Mumbai Police arrested two businessmen during an operation. Police reported the seizure of 43 grams of cocaine and 11.5 grams of MDMA from them.

Police suspected that Aman had purchased drugs from these two individuals on five separate occasions. Media reports subsequently stated that a search operation was launched to locate him.

However, no link has been established between that past drug investigation involving Aman Preet Singh and the current income tax raids. The primary focus of the current operation is financial transactions and alleged foreign fund transfers.

Vashu Bhagnani and Panorama Studios

Rakul Preet Singh's husband, Jackky Bhagnani, and his father, Vashu Bhagnani, have long been associated with film production. Vashu Bhagnani's production house, Pooja Entertainment, is associated with numerous Bollywood films. Meanwhile, Panorama Studios, led by Kumar Mangat, is linked to various movies, including the *Raid* and *Drishyam* franchises.

Income Tax Department officials are currently examining relevant documents and financial transactions. No information has yet been made public that would allow for a definitive conclusion regarding the allegations before the investigation is complete.
