Messi’s Return Overshadowed by Casemiro Own Goal

Lionel Messi received a thunderous welcome when he entered in the 53rd minute, with the entire stadium erupting into chants of “Messi, Messi.” The match marked his first appearance for Inter Miami since the World Cup.

But the comeback night did not end in victory. Inter Miami were held to a 2-2 draw by Columbus Crew, ending their six-game winning streak, although they remain second in the Eastern Conference.

Miami now have 38 points from 18 matches, two behind conference leaders Nashville.
