Popular Tollywood actor Dev (Deepak Adhikari) hosted a grand Ganesh Puja at his residence on Tuesday (September 15). The event drew a star-studded gathering, with familiar faces from both the film industry and the political arena arriving to seek blessings from Lord Ganesha.
Prominent figures from various fields—including Suvendu Adhikari, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Kunal Ghosh, and Sukanta Majumdar—were spotted at the celebration.
Dev sings upon seeing Prosenjit
Prosenjit Chatterjee arrived at Dev's home later in the evening, where Dev personally welcomed him at the doorstep. Upon seeing his beloved 'Bumbada' (Prosenjit's nickname), Dev playfully sang the song "Chokh Tule Dekh Na Ke Eseche" (Look up and see who has arrived).
Prosenjit then stepped forward and embraced Dev. Videos and photos capturing this heartfelt moment between stars of two different generations have garnered significant praise on social media.
Dev was seen wearing an off-white *pyjama-panjabi* (traditional kurta-trouser set), while Prosenjit opted for a black oversized T-shirt and denim jeans.
A host of stars in attendance
Actress Ishaa Saha was also present at the Ganesh Puja. She was seen wearing a saree featuring a blend of blue and red hues.
Actress Priyanka Sarkar particularly caught everyone's eye; she attended the puja wearing a white saree adorned with red Gujarati-style embroidery.
Additionally, Jyotirmoyee Kundu—the leading lady of Dev's film *Projapoti 2*—was spotted at the event, dressed in a blue-and-green saree.
Lahoma Bhattacharya arrived with her parents, and Anirban Bhattacharya—famous for his role as 'Eken Babu'—was also seen at the gathering.
Fans missed Subhashree
Amidst the presence of so many stars, Subhashree Ganguly's absence from the event became a topic of discussion. Many fans were disappointed not to see her at Dev's home, especially ahead of the release of the film *Deshu 7*.
However, some on social media speculate that whenever Dev and Subhashree are seen together, it tends to spark various kinds of speculation and gossip. Therefore, they wish to remain cautious to ensure that no new controversies arise regarding the two of them during the film's promotional activities.
Hints of a film featuring Dev and Jeet
Meanwhile, there is talk of another major development for Bengali cinema enthusiasts. Recently, Prosenjit Chatterjee expressed his desire to make a film featuring both Dev and Jeet together.
It is reported that both stars have agreed to the proposal made by their senior colleague, Prosenjit. There is also speculation within Tollywood that production on the film could begin after the Puja festivities. If the project ultimately materializes, it could prove to be a significant milestone for Bengali cinema.
Why was Rukmini absent?
The absence of Dev's partner, Rukmini Maitra, from the Ganesh Puja celebrations at his home did not go unnoticed. However, Rukmini clarified her position before any speculation regarding the reason could arise.
The actress is currently in the United Kingdom, thousands of kilometers away from Kolkata. She is busy shooting for the film *Samook* alongside Akshay Kumar. Sources claim that Rukmini is starring opposite Akshay in the movie.
Consequently, her busy shooting schedule is being cited as the reason for her absence from the Puja at Dev's home.
