Abrar surpasses Rashid Khan to take the top spot in T20 bowling.

Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has claimed the top spot in the ICC T20 bowling rankings for the first time. He surpassed Afghanistan's star leg-spinner Rashid Khan by a margin of just one rating point.

Abrar’s current rating is 736, while Rashid’s is 735; however, Abrar holds a career-best rating of 757.

Rashid failed to live up to his reputation in the recent T20 series against India. Although he took four wickets across three matches, he conceded runs at a rate of 9.82 per over. Consequently, Abrar climbed one spot to the top of the rankings without even playing.

Abrar becomes the fifth Pakistani bowler to reach the top spot

Abrar is the fifth Pakistani bowler to reach the number one position in the T20 bowling rankings. Previously, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Imad Wasim, and Shahid Afridi had achieved this feat for the country.

Leg-spinners also dominate the top four of the rankings. Following Abrar and Rashid, Australia's Adam Zampa holds third place, while England's Adil Rashid is in fourth.

England's Jamie Overton made the biggest leap; after taking five wickets in the series against Sri Lanka, he climbed 47 places to reach a career-best sixth position.

Among Bangladeshi bowlers, left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed holds the highest position, sitting at number 12.

Ishan tops batting rankings; Brook at number four

India's Ishan Kishan has retained the top spot in the T20 batting rankings. However, England captain Harry Brook has made significant progress following an excellent series against Sri Lanka.

Climbing five places, Brook has now reached the fourth spot; he scored 170 runs in the series. His teammate Jos Buttler also moved up two places to fifth; he was England's highest run-scorer in the series with 172 runs.

Among Bangladeshi batsmen, Tanzid Hasan holds the highest position. The left-handed opener is ranked 17th.
