Haaland Scores Twice as Norway Beat Denmark 3-2 in Nations League

Erling Haaland struck twice as Norway overcame Denmark 3-2 in a thrilling UEFA Nations League opener, recovering from a second-half fightback by the visitors to secure all three points.

Norway made a flying start at home in League A Group 4. Oscar Bobb opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a well-placed angled finish before Haaland doubled the lead just four minutes later.

The Manchester City striker received a through ball inside the box and produced a powerful first-time finish from a difficult angle to make it 2-0.

Denmark responded quickly. Seven minutes after falling two goals behind, Mikkel Damsgaard reduced the deficit with a superb free-kick that curled over the defensive wall and into the net.

The visitors completed their comeback in the 60th minute when Rasmus Højlund scored from close range to level the match at 2-2.

The game then turned into an open contest, but Norway had the decisive player in Haaland.

In the 74th minute, the striker received another pass inside the box, found himself in a dangerous position and fired a powerful first-time shot into the net to restore Norway’s lead.

Denmark could not find another equaliser, and Norway held on for a dramatic 3-2 victory.

Haaland now has 64 international goals in 56 appearances for Norway. After continuing his scoring form for Manchester City at the start of the new season, the striker has carried that momentum into international football as well.

The result gives Norway a winning start to their Nations League campaign, with Haaland once again proving decisive for his country.
