Woman With Dementia Still Remembers BTS Star Jimin, Inspiring Daughter to Take Her to Concert

An elderly woman living with dementia has lost many of her everyday memories, but one name remains remarkably clear in her mind—BTS star Jimin.

Determined to preserve that precious connection, her daughter took her to Jimin’s solo concert in Chicago, United States. The emotional story later gained widespread attention after being shared on social media and reported by international media.

In a video message posted online, the woman explained that her mother’s memory had gradually deteriorated, causing her to forget many familiar people and everyday details. Yet, remarkably, she continued to remember Jimin and her affection for the BTS singer.

Wanting to honour that special connection, the daughter decided to buy tickets for Jimin’s concert. Her mother’s excited reaction after hearing the news also touched fans online, with the video quickly drawing an emotional response from the BTS ARMY.

According to the daughter, her mother spent much of the flight happily singing and talking about seeing Jimin. However, because of her health condition, she became confused several times during the journey. While she still recognised Jimin, she repeatedly forgot where they were going or why they were on a plane.

After arriving in Chicago, the mother and daughter attended Jimin’s concert together and enjoyed the special experience.

Following the show, the daughter also purchased several Jimin-themed items from a pop-up store to decorate her mother’s bedroom. Photos of the elderly woman smiling while wearing a T-shirt featuring Jimin’s name were later shared online and received an overwhelmingly positive response.

Reflecting on the experience, the daughter expressed her deep gratitude to Jimin for giving her the opportunity to create such precious memories with her mother.

For her, the concert was about much more than seeing a favourite artist—it was a chance to celebrate one beautiful memory that her mother has managed to hold on to despite dementia.
