Harry Kane Sets Bundesliga Record With Fastest 100 Goals

Harry Kane has rewritten the Bundesliga record books by becoming the fastest player to reach 100 goals in the competition.

The Bayern Munich striker reached the landmark during his side’s emphatic 7-0 victory over Union Berlin at the Allianz Arena, scoring from the penalty spot in the 39th minute.

Kane needed just 98 Bundesliga appearances to reach 100 goals, surpassing Dieter Müller’s long-standing record of 129 matches. The Bayern forward reached the milestone 31 games faster than the former Cologne striker.

Kane Breaks Dieter Müller’s Long-Standing Record

Dieter Müller had held the Bundesliga record since September 1977, when he completed his first 100 goals after 129 appearances.

Bayern legend Gerd Müller is next on the historical list, having reached 100 Bundesliga goals in 136 matches. Lothar Emmerich required 140 games, while Hamburg great Uwe Seeler reached the mark in 157 appearances.

Kane now stands alone at the top after needing just 98 matches.

Another Record-Breaking Night for Kane

Since joining Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, Kane has continued to produce extraordinary numbers in front of goal.

He has finished as the Bundesliga’s top scorer in each of his first three seasons in Germany. Against Union Berlin, he added two more goals to his tally.

After converting the penalty in the first half, Kane struck again in the 54th minute, heading home a superb cross from Michael Olise.

The brace took Kane to 152 goals in 154 appearances for Bayern. He has also provided 34 assists, meaning he has been directly involved in 186 goals for the German giants.

Kane Has Already Made European History

Kane previously reached another major milestone for Bayern when he scored his 100th goal for the club against Werder Bremen in 2025.

That goal came in his 104th appearance, making him the fastest player in the 21st century to score 100 goals for a club in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

He surpassed the previous marks set by Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid and Erling Haaland at Manchester City, with both players requiring 105 appearances to reach 100 goals for their respective clubs.

Kane Joins Elite Group of Foreign Scorers

Kane is now the eighth foreign player to score 100 goals in the Bundesliga.

The all-time record among foreign players remains with Robert Lewandowski, who scored 312 Bundesliga goals in 384 appearances for Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

Given Kane’s scoring rate since arriving in Germany, there is little indication that his Bundesliga goal tally will stop at 100.

Contract Talks and More Goals Ahead

Kane has also indicated that he remains happy at Bayern, while discussions over a potential contract extension continue.

His current deal is due to expire at the end of the season. If he maintains his current scoring rate, another major milestone could soon come into view.

With 152 goals in 154 appearances for Bayern, Kane is already producing at an extraordinary rate. His new Bundesliga record of 100 goals in just 98 games adds another landmark to an increasingly remarkable spell in Germany.
