Cristiano Ronaldo could soon take on an even more significant role at Al-Nassr. According to the Portuguese media outlet *A Bola*, a five-member investor consortium has entered the race to acquire ownership of Al-Nassr from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF)—and Ronaldo himself is part of this group.

Currently, the PIF holds a 75% stake in Al-Nassr. Alongside Ronaldo, the consortium formed to take control of the club includes Gerry Cardinale, the owner of the Italian club AC Milan. The remaining three members are influential business figures from the Saudi sports and corporate sectors.

Preparing a Proposal for the PIF

The consortium is planning to submit a formal proposal to the PIF regarding the transfer of Al-Nassr's ownership. However, discussions have not yet reached the final stage; their primary objective is to reach an agreement with the PIF concerning the financial and other terms of the deal.

Cardinale acquired AC Milan in 2022 through his investment firm, RedBird Capital Partners. He holds multiple investments in the sports sector. Successfully acquiring Al-Nassr would provide him with an opportunity to further expand his investment portfolio in international football.

Ronaldo Seeks a Larger Ownership Stake

According to reports, Ronaldo already owns a 5% stake in Al-Nassr. If this new acquisition succeeds, his shareholding in the club could increase further.

Since joining Al-Nassr in late 2022, Ronaldo has not only established himself as the club's biggest star but has also become a key figure in boosting the global popularity of Saudi football.

The financial value of this potential acquisition has not yet been officially disclosed. However, media reports suggest that all five members of the consortium would need to invest substantial sums to finalize the deal.

Ronaldo Increasing Investments in Football

Alongside his career as a player, Ronaldo’s interest in business and football club ownership is steadily growing. In February of this year, the 41-year-old Portuguese star became a co-owner of the Spanish second-division club Almería after purchasing a 25 percent stake in the team.

If the bid to acquire ownership of Al-Nassr succeeds, Ronaldo’s role in the football world will expand further; alongside his status as a player, he could then also be viewed as a key owner and investor in the club.
