Recently, while responding to a member's question at Barcelona's general assembly, Laporta stated that a tribute for Messi would be organized once the stadium renovations are complete.

In Laporta's words, "We will honor him when the stadium is finished, provided he wants it himself. I hope to see him soon. This tribute could take place in front of approximately 105,000 spectators."

According to Barcelona's plans, the full renovation of Spotify Camp Nou is expected to be completed around 2028. The plan is to host the tribute once the stadium is fully operational with a maximum capacity of around 105,000 spectators.

Alongside the discussion regarding Messi's tribute, Laporta also paid his respects to the player's late father, Jorge Messi. Jorge Messi passed away on August 8 at the age of 68. Expressing condolences to the family, Laporta highlighted the crucial role Jorge played in shaping Messi's career.
