Major changes in the France squad under Zidane; media access being curtailed.

Zinedine Zidane has made his working style clear even before taking charge of his first match as France's coach. The French legend is establishing a new structure by altering several rules that had been in place during Didier Deschamps' 14-year tenure. A major shift is evident in how the national team interacts with the media.

The new rules came into effect with the announcement of Zidane's first squad. Unlike the Deschamps era, television cameras will not be permitted inside the press conference room during squad announcements; instead, the event will be exclusively recorded and broadcast live by the French Football Federation's (FFF) own channels.

Changes are also coming to the national team's Clairefontaine training center. Previously, the media was allowed to cover players arriving at the camp live, and journalists could film their entry.

Under Zidane, that access is being restricted. From now on, the FFF will handle the filming and distribution of images and videos showing players arriving at the camp.

However, Zidane is not cutting off contact with the media entirely. A special "mixed zone" will be set up during training camps to allow journalists to speak with the players, ensuring some level of interaction within a controlled environment.

Zidane will not grant any exclusive interviews during his first FIFA international break as national team coach. A report by the Spanish sports daily *AS* indicates that he intends to maintain the relatively reserved persona he cultivated throughout his playing career.

Nevertheless, Zidane is not shying away from the media completely; he is scheduled to appear at eight press conferences between Friday's squad announcement and the match against Belgium on October 5.

France will play four UEFA Nations League matches during the upcoming international break. The new chapter under Zidane begins with an away match against Turkey on September 25, followed by another away game where Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, and the squad will face Belgium. The two-time world champions will host Italy and Belgium at their home ground, Stade de France, in the final two matches of the international break.
